Founded in 2011, The Hudson Café was born in the heart of Detroit just before the city’s much-publicized revival began. Located on Woodward Avenue between Grand River and State St, our name is a nod to the iconic Hudson’s department store, which was located directly across the street from us on Woodward Avenue, and Detroit’s heyday as a bustling, cosmopolitan city.

Dime Store is a restaurant in downtown Detroit, Michigan, serving scratch-made breakfast, lunch, and brunch food all day, six days a week.

In January 2012 we moved from Toronto to 1266 Michigan Avenue, a former breakfast restaurant that had been closed for two years.  We set up sleeping bags on the table tops and for two weeks we camped out at the restaurant, trying to figure out what we had gotten ourselves into.
